GitHub’s Copilot goes multi-model and adds support for Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini

Microsoft Security Copilot combines AI with cybersecurity to provide users with more advanced protection against attacks. Copilot for Microsoft 365 refers to the integration of the Copilot AI assistant into Microsoft’s 365 productivity software family, including Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Other Copliots ChatGPT App span Microsoft’s applications and experiences, including Microsoft 365. These Copilots provide AI assistance in virtually every aspect of the workflow across the different Microsoft applications. However, unlike ChatGPT, you can make changes and edits to your Copilot-created image without leaving the page.

So, for the burning question, how does it compare to Gemini Live and ChatGPT’s Voice Mode? In my experience, I found it to be just as good, operating nearly identically. The only major difference is that everyone can take advantage without having to pay for a subscription or own a specific device, which is a win in my book. When chatting with the voice option « Wave, » an upbeat male-sounding voice, I was surprised by how enthusiastic the assistant was from the get-go. Despite there being noise in the background, it understood every word I said clearly, even without me annunciating every word like I typically would with a voice assistant. « With Bing Chat Enterprise, user and business data are protected and will not leak outside the organization. Powered by a customized version of Llama 3 specifically designed for Meta products, MetaAI is a new standalone chatbot from the social media giant. Pi from Inflection AI is my favorite large language model to talk to. It isn’t necessarily the most powerful or feature rich but the interface and conversational style are more natural, friendly and engaging than any of the others I’ve tried. Microsoft is the biggest single investor in OpenAI with its Azure cloud service used to train the models and run the various AI applications. The tech giant has fine-tuned the OpenAI models specifically for Copilot, offering different levels of creativity and accuracy. The context window for Claude is also one of the largest of any AI chatbot with a default of about 200,000, rising to 1 million for certain use cases.

That said, it’s most impressive when you’re paying for it, so it’s perhaps not the bot to go for if you’re on a budget. ChatGPT Plus also gives you access to the most recent GPT-4 models, but the free GPT-3.5 model is a perfectly fine gateway into AI chatbot conversations. It’s fast and versatile, though it doesn’t give you links to other places on the web as Copilot does, to help you check the veracity of what you’re reading. You can’t miss the recent and rapid rise of generative AI chatbots, with more and more of these apps opening up their doors to users—and pushing their way into the software and hardware we use every day. Moreover, the subscription also unlocks access to ChatGPT’s flashy new voice conversations mode. The feature allows you to have long back-and-forth conversations with the chatbot.

The free access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo is limited to non-peak times, however, and the free option also excludes the Microsoft 365 integrations. With integration into Microsoft 365, Copilot is the better choice for users who already have a subscription to the brand’s suite of tools like Word and PowerPoint. While the AI is in addition to the subscription costs for Microsoft 365, the integration means less back-and-forth between separate apps. Naturally, as a Microsoft product, Copilot is integrated into more apps. You can use Copilot in Word and PowerPoint if you also have a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Which is the right product for you?

But more importantly, each thread is limited to 30 replies, so long back-and-forth conversations may not always be possible. Having said that, it’s worth noting that Microsoft has reduced these restrictions over time. The company also says that most people find what they’re looking for within five replies or fewer. OpenAI imposes very few restrictions on ChatGPT’s usage, even if you don’t pay for it. You may run into some errors if you send off too many messages within a few minutes, but that’s meant to combat abuse. You can also have relatively longer conversations with the chatbot — no per-conversation limits to speak of.

Microsoft launched its big AI push earlier this year as part of its Bing search engine, integrating a ChatGPT-like interface directly into its search results. Now less than a year later, it’s dropping the Bing Chat branding and moving to Copilot, the new name for the chat interface you might have used in Bing, Microsoft Edge, and Windows 11. Copilot can access all the sensitive data that a user can access, which is often far too much.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, generates responses based on its extensive training data but lacks real-time access to personal or enterprise-specific information. Since the AI model is not integrated within an internal system, it is less able to offer contextual insights. Lately, artificial intelligence (AI) has witnessed remarkable advancements, particularly in natural language processing (NLP). Chatbots and conversational agents have become increasingly prevalent, assisting users in various domains, from customer service to virtual companionship. Copilot can synthesize information about a project from different sources. The pricing strategy reflects Microsoft’s confidence in the impact that genAI will have on workforce productivity. Launched in 2018, WriterZen has quickly gained immense popularity due to its all-rounded approach and ease of use. It’s worth noting, however, that content from this ChatGPT alternative may not always be original.

Shortly after ChatGPT’s launch, Microsoft announced its Bing search engine was getting an AI chatbot, known at the time as Bing Chat but later renamed to Copilot. Despite being designed for the same purpose, Copilot had some major advantages over ChatGPT, with the biggest perk being access to the internet for free. One of the main reasons to go with ChatGPT as your chatbot of choice is that it’s at the cutting edge of AI development, with new improvements and features released on a regular basis.

ChatGPT’s accuracy has gotten worse, study shows

For instance, if you want to use Copilot for Teams, you’ll need a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription and a Microsoft 365 plan. ChatGPT Plus makes more suggestions

ChatGPT also uses a model from that family of models; however, it uses the most advanced one–GPT-4o. Of course, you could set this shortcut to launch any application, such as your favorite messaging app, rather than some other AI chatbot, or simply remap the key to a different standard shortcut. However, with the integration of DALL-E 3, ChatGPT now outpaces Copilot (and Google Bard) in image analysis as well as image generation.
