American remake (in English) of the French version of the series HPI (2021)
Plot
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, and how, thanks to her extraordinary mind, she can help solve a crime as she rearranges the evidence during her shift as a nanny at the police station. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory and deep knowledge of secrets, Morgan makes a series of basic legal mistakes that anyone who has ever seen on television show by law they would know not to do them.
It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence – violating the « fruit of the poisonous tree » legal doctrine
In episode one, for example, she retrieves a document from a locked safe at the suspect-victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court — illegally obtained evidence. In episode 2 she has to be reminded to wear gloves before handling crime scene evidence, and in #3 she removes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and causing everything she removed to not let be admissible in court..
Remake of HPI (2021)
Looking at her TV resume from Always Sunny and her lead role in The Mick, Olsen glides across the screen in a not-so-film-for-film remake of this French procedural, but she’s definitely in the mood for it. episode, you can tell Olsen was drawn to this project by the way she portrays a capable, empowered, struggling woman.
The first episode was well done, although the editing could use some work
The comedy is stitched through her performance as well as the diction of her French performance. What this series does best is captivate you with a seasoned cast led by Judy Reyes, whose stern eyes and tender voice invite the audience to develop a sense of empathy for the players her character seeks to gather around them, for to seek justice.
