Plot
On an island of haves and have-nots, young John B. recruits his three best friends to search for a legendary treasure related to his father’s disappearance. Chase Stokes, Madeline Cline and their "OBX" co-stars question each other on the best lines from their hit Netflix series. It was originally set to be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
So what’s not to like!?
After watching all 3 seasons of Outer Banks, I can’t deny that I was entertained and entertained: all episodes are filled with high-speed adventures, treasure hunts and pursuits of villains, all in exotic locations and with the occasional romantic entanglement. Among the young and attractive cast. Well, I have a few reservations too. Everything that happens is extremely far-fetched and unrealistic: how this group of young friends repeatedly succeeds in escaping from under the noses of the police or heavily armed criminals, often under a hail of gunfire but always unharmed; or how they solve mind-boggling mysteries (like treasures hidden for ages or the location of the legendary El Dorado) thanks to a flick of the wrist or a stroke of luck.
It’s definitely another series for the young
The young actors clearly intend to illustrate the importance of true friendship, but their juvenile behavior gradually gets on your nerves. All the bro’ing and dude’ing and the inevitable backwards baseball caps. Of course, there are the silly nicknames like JJ and Pope and John B (what does the B stand for, anyway?). They all look good, but the acting is adequate, with only Drew Starkey as the annoying Rafe really standing out, and Rudy Pankow very convincingly as the resourceful, ADHD-fueled JJ.
, It doesn’t quite cross the realms of The Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew
Maybe, as a fairly grown-up person, I shouldn’t watch this at all, but hey, sometimes it’s nice to go with an easy and fun flow without thinking too much. The final scene of season 3 set the stage for another season, and I bet I won’t be able to resist it. Again.. A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
