Plot
After being released from prison after 25 years, New York Mafia capo Dwight « The General » Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Dwight « The General » Manfredi: I don’t really go to church.

The opening credits sequence shows various photographic and painted Oklahoma views and landmarks superimposed on the New York City landscape: The statue of Sioux Chief « Touch the Clouds » wearing a war hat and bone necklace (breastplate) superimposed on the top of the Brooklyn Bridge; the Golden Drill Statue superimposed on the Statue of Liberty; the Western Gateway Arch of Route 66 superimposed on a major « Avenue » in Manhattan. In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered « Avenues » that are intersected by smaller numbered streets. Up until now, I’ve loved Tulsa King.
I love pretty much anything Taylor Sheridan does, so I knew this one would be no different
It’s a fun crime series that knows exactly what it wants to be, and you can tell the cast, led by Sylvester Stallone, are having a blast making it. It’s about a New York mob boss named Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) who gets out of prison after 25 years. He thinks he’ll be welcomed as a hero, but he’s sent to Tulsa to run things.
After not feeling the love he feels from his gang, he sets out to build his own in Tulsa
Some of it may seem a little silly, but overall, it’s a really good show that’s definitely worth watching. It’s obviously doing well for itself, as it’s already been renewed for a second season, which is great news!
